Connect Cares

We are grateful for the support that you and all of our other customers give to Connect Heating, Air, Plumbing, Electrical & Refrigeration. Support is a two-way street and we like to 'give back' to the community. "Connect Cares" is a way for you to help your favorite organization by means of a friendly competition between the supporters of three local community groups. Connect Heating, Air, Plumbing, Electrical & Refrigeration will donate to each organization based on what place they come in at the end of Saturday, April 4, 2020.
Donations:
  • 1st: $1000
  • 2nd: $700
  • 3rd: $500
Rules:
  • Contestant requires minimum 50 votes to qualify.
  • Voting: 1 vote per day per person.
  • Votes with unverified emails will not be counted.
  • One person cannot vote for other people. Play fair. It's okay if one person votes for family members, but not for multiple people (this is tracked and votes will be disregarded if this is done.)

The Farm at Gardner Village

The Farm at Gardner village is a unique experience and chance to interact with real farm animals. We are a local working farm that allows your children to interact with the day to day operation of farm life, such as pony rides, milking cows, gathering eggs, and feeding the goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and ducks.

Our staff are happy to tell your child or group about the rescued animals housed with us. Please feel free to ask, because we are happy to share! Please also be sure to follow any safety instructions provided by the volunteers and staff. For a small extra fee, your child may feed grain to many of the animals. Also for an extra charge, enjoy a ride around Gardner Village on one of our rescued ponies. Parents are always invited to walk with us on the journey!

Your donations help us to feed, house, care for and provide medical attention to all of our wonderful rescues. We are a non-profit organization, and depend upon your generosity to continue our good work. Much of our support also comes from our dedicated volunteers - if you'd like to know how to contribute more ( time, materials, and financial help are all greatly appreciated), please speak with the staff to find out how to apply. Children under the age of 12 can volunteer when accompanied by a parent. Older children and adults are also welcome!

Children and the Earth

Children and the Earth, Inc. was organized and incorporated in early 1999, at the request of The Rockwood Charitable Support Foundation. Annual funding in part comes from The Rockwood Charitable Support Foundation and The Ross Charitable Support foundation. Children and the Earth, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, nonprofit organization.

The founder and creator of Children and the Earth, Inc. is Lana R. Hall. Lana has always been a charitable person and when she retired in 1997 she decided to follow her dream of helping underpriveleged children. She created Children and the Earth to help disadvantaged children within her community and beyond. Lana has two children of her own, which are involved in the charity. Her daughter Amber Brosig is the managing trustee and manages the charity year round.

Our mission is to assist children faced with life threatening, sometimes terminal illness. Anything from cancer, special needs, to rare disease.

Children and The Earth has come together to create special opportunities for these children and their families to make memories to last a lifetime. We also assist in easing the burden of medical expenses while these children are faced with hard battles. We’ve done it all from checking every item off terminally ill children’s bucket lists to remodeling a home to make it more wheel chair accessible. There is nothing we won’t try to come together to accomplish for these children and their families.

Children and The Earth is our heart and soul and we give it our best to be there every step of the way and give back to our community in any way we can. We believe nobody should fight alone and we will never give up!

The Sandy Club "A Safe Place for Boys & Girls"

History
The Sandy Club, "A Safe Place for Boys and Girls" was founded in 1991 by Linda Martinez Saville as a haven for youth in the Sandy City area. Linda’s unique upbringing and career opportunities showed her the importance of taking care of every person around her. What began as a double wide trailer over 25 years ago has become a fully-dedicated, independently operated "safe place" facility for hundreds of children each year; and a legacy of compassion, determination, and service in Sandy City.

Today
The Sandy Club has been around longer than any youth who attends the facility, yet the vision and compassion that began with Linda Martinez Saville still permeates the building and shapes every interaction inside its walls. Each day children are given a snack, opportunities to play, socialize, and exercise, and opportunities for study help and tutoring with Sandy Club staff and administration. Each year the children are given opportunities to learn about their communities through field trips and community outreach programs from both private and public institutions. The children also receive school supplies, food, coats, and shoes as need dictates and donations support.

The Sandy Club has made an incredible impact in the Sandy City community over the past 25 years and, with the help of generous donors and patrons, plans to ever increase its outreach, opportunities, and impact for many years to come.
